From Bethlehem to Jerusalem…

CBC in Israel - March 3-14, 2025

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls And prosperity within your palaces.

For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “May peace be within you.”  For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.

Psalm 122:6–9

The Land of Israel is where Jesus came down to earth, where He called His talmidim (disciples) and where He taught them to follow His example: to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

You will be immersed in the land and lessons of the Bible as you’re led on a journey through Scripture while your local guide and driver will bring the past and present culture of Israel alive to all your senses.

Visit Israel and you will be a changed disciple!

Interview with our guide, Ronen Khayat (3/29/24):

  • One year away!

While it is impossible to say what will happen in Israel over the next six to twelve months, there is every reason to believe our trip will be a “go!”

Most of Israel is back to life as it was before the horrific attacks on October 7th. Schools are in session, sporting and entertainment events are being held, and people are working and spending recreation time with their families as usual.

Around the end of April, GTI (our tour company) will confirm our final price.  From this point, we will have nearly six months before the deadline to submit a deposit and get an early booking discount. This also gives us ample time to see how the military situation unfolds over the summer months.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GOING, SAVE THE DATES: MARCH 3-14. 2025! We fully anticipate boarding a plane about a year from now and having an amazing trip!

If you have faith that we are going (even mustard seed size!), there are some things you can start doing:

    • Pray for our trip.

    • Read the Gospels (over and over!)

    • Start a walking/exercise regimen If not already doing so.

    • Make sure you have a Passport (book, not card).

      • If not, start here: Bonham Post Office accepts forms and payments (check their website for hours).

      • IMPORTANT: Ensure your passport does not expire until after 9/15/2025 (return date + six months).

      • If you need to renew your passport, click here.

    • Review the GTI Preparation Guide.

We have several slots available, so please spread the word and share this website with family and friends and ask them to complete the interest form below if they haven’t already done so.

  • After confirming initial interest (yay!), we confirmed with GTI, our tour company and they are currently in the process of booking hotels and whatnot.  Our tour guide is named Ronen.  I met him in January, and he is great.  There is a bio of him below.

Around April 2024, GTI will confirm our air contract.  At that time we’ll know the cost and can begin accepting deposits.  GTI has a nice pre-trip orientation course that you’ll be able to access after making a deposit.   They take great care of us in terms of practical and spiritual preparation.  https://gtitours.org/study-tour-preparation-guide

We still have several slots available so please spread the word and share the website with family and friends!

  • March 3-14, 2025 (Bonham ISD Spring Break)

    (10 days in Israel).

    SAVE THE DATES!

We are going in 2025 as most 2024 slots are already full. Planning this far in advance gives us the most flexibility and gives you the opportunity to save up for this once in a lifetime trip!

  • We are anticipating approximately $5200 per person; however, should the continued rate of inflation remain high, the final cost will be higher.

We will not have a set cost until April 2024, when the airline contract can be finalized.

START SAVING A LITTLE EACH MONTH!

We encourage you to think of this study tour as an investment in your discipleship!

The price is “all-inclusive” meaning once you arrive at DFW, in theory you would not need to spend a single penny. The price includes r/t airfare from DFW to TLV, meals, hotels, group transportation, fees, tips and unlimited water on the bus.

Participants will also receive a hydration backpack with a Bible, journal, study guide, and other resources. We will also be given free access to a trip preparation online course.

Items not included include passport fees, travel insurance (strongly recommended), most beverages, snacks, and additional airfare/travel costs if DFW is not your home airport.

  • Chris Flanagan and GTI Tours.

Chris has been teaching the Bible for over 20 years and has developed a deep love for Israel and teaching the Bible in its context. He loves to bring the Bible to life by showing the importance of its setting and the importance of its original audience. He firmly believes there is no better place to study these things than in the locations where they were written!

GTI’s seasoned staff and guides do so much more than handle the details and keep things on schedule. They have personal experience and intimate knowledge of the places and events you’ll examine. They each have a shepherd’s heart and a passion for God’s word.

Chris has toured with GTI in January 2023.

  • Ronen's Photo

Born and bred in Jerusalem, Ronen served in the IDF in the prestigious Paratroopers regiment, rising to the rank of major. He received his degree in political science at the Hebrew University and also completed the Ministry of Tourism tour guides course and the Yad Vashem tour guides course about the history of the Holocaust. He has guided many youth delegations to Poland, but his passion is guiding Jewish and Christian groups in Israel.

  • We will visit roughly 3-5 sites per day, starting in a region known as the Shephelah, which is the setting for familiar biblical names like Samson, Samuel, and David. Then we will spend two nights in the Dead Sea region and the Jordan valley. Next, we will spend three nights around (and on) the Sea of Galilee, before we conclude with four nights in God’s Holy City of Jerusalem.

  • CBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. We welcome anyone from a similar faith background to join us to learn about and experience the land of Jesus and the Bible in a safe and supportive environment .

If we don’t already know each other, our Sr. Pastor and tour leader will have a brief conversation with you prior to registration to assure our tour will be the best fit for you.

The airfare included in the trip cost will depart from and return to DFW airport only. Additional travel costs, such as connecting flights to/from DFW is not included in the tour cost.

  • Is it safe?

    • Chris was just there in January 2023 and he had no safety issues.

    • Remember the media sells fear, and their motto is, “if it bleeds, it leads.”

    • Our local guides monitor the security situation at all times.

How large will our group be?

    • We will need a minimum of 30 for the trip to be “a go.” We are in discussions with other similarly sized churches in the area to partner with us.

    • Friends and family are more then welcome to attend!

    • WE NEED TO KNOW RIGHT AWAY IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. PLEASE COMPLETE THE FORM BELOW!

    • The trip maximum is 55.

    Is it physically strenuous?

    • We will want to be able to walk five miles per day and climb five flights of stairs without difficulty.

    • We may have the opportunity to do optional small hikes for those who are interested.

    When is payment due?

    • We will collect deposits later this year and keep this page updated as we get more details.

    • As we get closer, GTI will set up a dedicated web page that will have payment information and a detailed trip preparation guide.

    I have additional questions.
